STUDIO WINDOW

An Oak Tree displaying rings that indicated a thousand years of growth, was destined to be placed on the construction pyre the day Deino and Jobekah arrived on the construction site of a new suburban development. They asked permission to remove the beautiful stump and make use of it by lovingly creating a window of interest and beauty facing the north east corner of their property.

Using a small woodcarvers tool, the middle was then hollowed to create this magnificent Oak window frame roughly 6' X 6'.

A forklift from the Folsom Lumber Company helped to place the window frame on its second story perch

Looking rather like the Alhambra from a fantasy land, slabs of hand cut Incense Cedar wood have been fashioned into intricately fashioned shingles using the shapes of stars, rounds and pointed tips to embellish the grace of the window.

Some of the exquisite shakes are only four by four inches.

SKYLIGHTS

Electric lights are not necessary during the daylight hours
Skylights fill the rooms of the house
With beams of soft golden light
Reflected against the ginger shades of red wood on the ceiling and walls,
Creating a warm and inviting glow.
The full moon pours silver streams through all of the portals at night.

THE KITCHEN

There is no house so complete that it cannot open its doors
To extend an invitation to guest and precious loved one.
"Come into the kitchen" Sit across the table in harmony,
Let us share and bespeak words of upliftment, laughter, and memories.
Feasting and enjoying the bounty of a good summer harvest
From a garden I have loved tenderly.
Healing herbs picked by hand,
Simmering into dark fragrant tea,
Dried by the sun.
Even the blooms have contributed to this gathering where bees
have shared their summer's work adding honey to our tea.
